CEM и SSM микросхемы — легендарный аналоговый звук 80-х

К концу 70-х годов прошлого столетия новая музыкальная отрасль — синтезаторостроение уже набирала нешуточные обороты. Спрос на новые электронные музыкальные инструменты — синтезаторы, стал резко расти, как в среде поп и рок музыкантов, так и среди классических и джазовых исполнителей, а также появляющихся новых электронно танцевальных и эксперементальных стилей и большого количества музыкантов любителей.

Стоит отметить, что до начала 80 х годов, большинство аналоговых синтезаторов создавалось на базе неспециализированных микросхем широкого спектра применения, в частности операционных усилителях и дискретных элементах, все это приводило к громозкости, нестабильности и ненадежности схем — особенно генераторных и обработки сигнала, а так же к достаточно высокой цене производства и соответственно стоимости готового инструмента. Назрела необходимость в создании специализированного набора микросхем, с помощью которых можно было бы создавать новые музыкальные инструменты, а также модернизировать уже имеющиеся модели.

Doug_CurtisИ тогда на радость производителям основанная Дугом Кертисом компания Curtis Electromusic Specialties, а к концу 80-х, с появлением новых цифровых технологий и OnChip Systems., разработала семейство недорогих микросхем для генерации и обработки сигналов для синтезаторов электронной музыки и аудиооборудования.

Эти микросхемы сразу же завоевали любовь ценителей аналогового синтезаторного звука и стали пользоваться большой популярностью у производителей электронных музыкальных инструментов и обработки звука.
